Rare Weather Phenomenan- 22 degree Sun Halo

While we were boating around on the Beagle Channel we saw this in the sky. A perfect circle around the sun with a rainbow colored border. Neither of us had ever seen something like this.  I Googled it and found out:

A sun halo is caused by tiny hexagonal ice crystals in cirrostratus clouds located in the upper atmosphere. The crystals bend the sun's light.
